The short answer: watch the eight TV seasons in order (170 episodes, 2016–2025), and add the four movies after Seasons 2, 4, 5 and 6. Crunchyroll has every season in the US. Netflix has six of the eight; Season 6 and the Final Season are not on it, so a Netflix-only plan stops twice.
The TV story is complete: the Final Season ended on December 13, 2025 with episode 170, closing out Kōhei Horikoshi's 42-volume manga, and a bonus episode, More, followed in Japan on May 2, 2026. That means you can plan the whole run before you start, which is what the tables below are for.
📋 The Eight Seasons and Where Each Streams in the US
| Season | Aired in Japan | Episodes | Where it streams |
|---|---|---|---|
| Season 1 | 2016 | 13 (episodes 1–13) | Crunchyroll, Netflix; free with ads on Rakuten Viki |
| Season 2 | 2017 | 25 (14–38) | Crunchyroll, Netflix, Hulu; free with ads on Rakuten Viki |
| Season 3 | 2018 | 25 (39–63) | Crunchyroll, Netflix, Hulu |
| Season 4 | 2019–2020 | 25 (64–88) | Crunchyroll, Netflix, Hulu |
| Season 5 | 2021 | 25 (89–113) | Crunchyroll, Netflix, Hulu |
| Season 6 | 2022–2023 | 25 (114–138) | Crunchyroll only |
| Season 7 | 2024 | 21 (139–159) | Crunchyroll, Netflix |
| Final Season (Season 8) | 2025 | 11 (160–170) | Crunchyroll (see note) |
Checked on October 20, 2026 against TMDB and JustWatch (US); for Seasons 3 to 7, Crunchyroll is listed through its Prime Video channel. An English dub of the Final Season was announced for Hulu in February 2026, but JustWatch did not list it there on the date above. The four Memories episodes from April 2024 are recaps made to lead into Season 7, and you can skip them.
🎬 Where the Four Movies Fit
| Movie | Released in Japan | Watch it after | Where it streams |
|---|---|---|---|
| My Hero Academia: Two Heroes | August 3, 2018 | Season 2 | Crunchyroll |
| My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising | December 20, 2019 | Season 4 | Netflix, Crunchyroll |
| My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission | August 6, 2021 | Season 5 | Netflix; Crunchyroll through its Prime Video channel |
| My Hero Academia: You're Next | August 2, 2024 | Season 6 | Netflix, Crunchyroll |
All four are original stories rather than chapters of the manga, so skipping them leaves no gap in the TV plot. Where they sit still matters, because each one assumes the characters' powers and the state of the world at a particular point in the story. Two Heroes takes place in the summer break between the final exams and the forest training camp, which is the gap between Seasons 2 and 3.
You're Next is set after the war that closes Season 6; Horikoshi said so himself. Guides place it before the final battle, which begins a few episodes into Season 7, so watching it right after Season 6 keeps you clear of anything it shows. Heroes Rising and World Heroes' Mission are looser. Fan guides disagree on the exact episode (some put Heroes Rising partway through Season 5), but watching each after the season named in the table is the safe choice.
🧭 Pick a Route: TV Only, With the Movies, or Netflix First
| Route | Watch | Services you need |
|---|---|---|
| TV only | Seasons 1–8, then More | Crunchyroll |
| TV with the movies | S1, S2, Two Heroes, S3, S4, Heroes Rising, S5, World Heroes' Mission, S6, You're Next, S7, Final Season, More | Crunchyroll |
| Netflix first | Seasons 1–5, Heroes Rising and World Heroes' Mission on Netflix; Season 6 on Crunchyroll; You're Next and Season 7 back on Netflix; the Final Season on Crunchyroll | Netflix, then Crunchyroll for the two gaps |
Two Heroes is Crunchyroll-only, so the Netflix route either skips it or picks it up during the Season 6 gap. Hulu has only Seasons 2 through 5, which makes it the weakest of the three services for this series, and it does not get a route of its own.
🧩 Vigilantes, the OVAs and the Bonus Episode
Optional Extras, in the Order They Make Sense
- My Hero Academia: Vigilantes (2025–2026, 26 episodes over two seasons) is a spin-off set five years before Season 1. It follows Koichi Haimawari, a college student who helps people without a hero license. It streams on Netflix and Crunchyroll. Watch it any time after Season 1, once Quirks and pro heroes no longer need explaining.
- The OVAs, such as Save! Rescue Training!, Training of the Dead and Make It! Do-or-Die Survival Training, are side episodes about Class 1-A's training. None of them changes the main plot.
- More (May 2, 2026) adapts the bonus chapter printed in the 42nd and final manga volume. It is set after the last episode, so it goes at the very end.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Is My Hero Academia finished?
Yes. The Final Season (Season 8) ended in Japan on December 13, 2025 with episode 170, which finishes the manga's story. The bonus episode More aired on May 2, 2026.
Do I need to watch the movies?
No. They are original stories and the TV series never depends on them. If you add only one, You're Next is the one closest to the main plot, set between the Season 6 war and the final battle.
Which seasons does Netflix have in the US?
Most of them. Netflix carries Seasons 1–5 and 7, Vigilantes, and three of the four movies (Heroes Rising, World Heroes' Mission, You're Next). What it lacks is Season 6, the Final Season and Two Heroes; the Netflix-first route above shows where to switch to Crunchyroll.
Should I watch Vigilantes first?
It is a prequel, but it came out in 2025 and expects you to know the main cast already. Start with Season 1 and come back to Vigilantes later.
How does the story line up in time?
Vigilantes comes first in the story, five years before Season 1. After that, the TV-with-the-movies route is already in story order, ending with More. On a first watch, leave Vigilantes for later, as above.
📝 Final Thoughts
If Season 1 feels slow, keep going. It is 13 episodes of setup: Izuku Midoriya, born without a Quirk, receives All Might's power and gets into U.A. High School. Season 2 opens with the U.A. Sports Festival, the first arc in which the whole of Class 1-A competes on screen, and that is where the rest of the class stops being background.
I stopped at Season 7, so the Final Season row above is a listing, not a verdict. If you want one plan, take the second route: the seasons in order, a movie at each break, all on Crunchyroll, so you never have to stop and check which service has the next part.
